My passion for travel, organization, and creativity all rolled into one career!
My girls and I normally like to travel with our multi-generational family – including my younger sister and my mother. This has been immensely helpful when the girls were so young, Dalia was 2.5 years old when we went to Puerto Rico, and when my oldest, wants to snorkel in the open sea. It's hard to be in 2 places at once!
I have always been a planner – everything I do is thought out and professionally researched, which is completely opposite of how my family’s travels. My sister wants to “figure out what do to when we get there” and my mom does “whatever you guys want to do”. YIKES! So, I became the unofficial trip & itinerary planner in our family.
Check out how our Puerto Rico Trip went: My sister travels all over the world, and I have always helped her with her itinerary during these trips, but she was now planning a trip a bit closer to home: PUERTO RICO! For months, she continuously bothered me to join her on this vacation – but as usual, I could not get away – TOO MUCH work, TOO MUCH stress, and NEVER ENOUGH time! But things took a turn and I saw an opening… After assistance with the airfare, we were able to join her in Puerto Rico.
During this last-minute trip – I mean the plane tickets were booked 2 weeks before takeoff – we stayed in San Juan but toured all over the island. One day we took a 4-hour road trip across Puerto Rico to Gilligan’s Island (Guanica). The kids enjoyed snorkeling in the calm water, and a traditional island lunch that was ferried over by the mainland restaurant. The next day we hiked the 1+ mile trek in the El Yunque Rain Forest to the La Mina Falls. The girls were able to swim in the stream below the falls before it started to drizzle, and we had to head back. Being homeschoolers, I always try to look for an educational avenue during our vacations, and PR was no exception. Before my sister arrived, my girls and I visited the Museo del Niño (Children's Museum) in Carolina. They enjoyed learning about weather, electricity, and space! And finally, the pièce de résistance of the entire trip was our visit to the island of Culebra. For this trip, we had to wake up early and drive a 1hr to the ferry terminal to take us over to the quaint island. And we lounged in the sun and played in the water all day. We have never seen water so turquoise. It was exceptional, and I wished for 1 more day – just 1 – to spend it there again.
Each evening when we dropped my sister off at her hotel, we told her what we had planned for the next day, and asked her what she was doing, and her nightly response was, accompanied with an eye roll, “I guess I’ll come with you!”
See what I mean!
It was an amazing trip and fed into my love of traveling and travel planning. After that initial trip, I reached out to an old friend from high school about her travel agency business – but it was a passing curiosity. Fast forward to today, after struggling to maintain the desired work-life balance, it became clear that a change was greatly needed.
And into the travel business, I delved. My passion for travel, organization, and creativity all rolled into one career! Due to my love of the Caribbean, Mexico, the World of Disney and a deep desire to venture to Hawaii, I am focusing on planning the perfect vacations for these locales. I focus on families but would love to support groups of friends, reunions, and other large groups in planning their amazing adventures.
